Basic gameplay[edit | edit source]
HP[edit | edit source]
HP is the most important stat. If your HP hits zero the dungeon run is over. HP regenerates some every turn you take, unless you're poisoned.
SP[edit | edit source]
SP affects how much damage you do, ability to dodge, as well as how many talisman spell you can cast. You lose one SP every time an enemy hits you with an attack.
Experience[edit | edit source]
You gain experience for every enemy you beat. If you do end up getting beaten by the dungeon your level doesn't reset. You get to keep any accrewed experience points.
Visibility[edit | edit source]
Dungeon visibility comes in two types. One where you can see everything as you walk around in hallways. And two, where you can only see one space ahead and one space behind in hallways.
The map will auto fill as you walk around a floor and completely fill out a room as soon as you walk in. If you have limited visibility, you won't be able to see the monsters until you actually walk in. If you can see down hallways and such you might catch a glimpse of the enemy sprites walking around a room before you walk in.

Tips and tricks[edit | edit source]
Tip #1: Some floor spawns only generate a few big rooms. Which means 5 plus enemies might spawn in the same room as you. Use hallways to your advantage before you get surrounded. If you stand one square into a hallway all the enemies will clog up the opening allowing you to fight them one on one. Also note enemies that inflict status ailments can use their abilities around corners. So some enemies are better to fight a few squares into a hallway.
Tip #2: Shuriken is the most useful of the ninja tools pickups in the game. It does reasonable damage at range and most enemies don't have a ranged attack to fight back. Allowing for some good damage while the enemy closes the gap. They also cause bomb enemies to blow up guarenteed on a successful hit, you don't get XP from a blown up bomb tho.
Tip #3: The first versions of the bosses/gods you fight are susceptible to pills. Pills work by throwing them at enemies. You can use pills to help reduce the gods HP before they get close enough to attack you.
